The ultimate gaming marathon is held by this player with his almost 60-hour-long World of Warcraft session, although he took 5-minute breaks every hour of the game.
World of Warcraft for PC is a Blizzard’s MMORPG that it still alive and popular after Shadowlands and Dragonflight. However, it is necessary to prepare before Worldsoul Saga and this user took it very seriously.
Many players and even users – or former players – of this role-playing game have indulged in marathon gaming sessions of this or other titles. However, how long? Enough to set a Guinness Record?
A gamer from Hungary has pushed himself to the limit after playing for almost 60 hours straight to World of Warcraft to beat the world record and become part of the history books.
But such a feat did not come without any risks for Barnabás Vujity-Zsolnay, the young man admitted to starting to get bored at 30 hours and even began to suffer ‘mild hallucinations’ at 45 hours.
But by continuing to play World of Warcraft uninterruptedly for 59 hours and 20 minutes – almost 2 and a half days – the Hungarian player has broken the record for the longest video game marathon in an MMRPG.
Barnabás works as a cook in Budapest and was able to beat the previous record by 23 hours and 31 minutes, as we can read on the official Guinness World Records website.
Who could play World of Warcraft for more than 60 hours?
His achievement has also earned him a second Guinness Record for the longest video game marathon playing World of Warcraft.
Barnabás’ record-attempt – and success – was broadcast live from the Hungarian esports video game website esport1.hu and all the streaming’ profits were donated to charitable organizations.
Barnabás killed time in dungeons with friends and in arenas, and he recounts his hallucinogenic experience. “I noticed that I started having mild hallucinations,” he says. “It was fun, but also difficult to concentrate while live streaming.”
The rules of any “longest marathon” record allowed for these 5-minute breaks every hour, which was when he ate, slept, and/or went to the bathroom. Barnabás says it was “ very difficult to cope with” the fatigue, but he never took caffeine, only water; he estimated that he drank about 15 liters.
Although it was easy for him as he has been playing WoW religiously for over 10 years and was spending up to 10 hours during the week and 16 on weekends: “I don’t regret it and I don’t recommend it,” he said. “I love the game and I will beat the record again if it is surpassed. It’s mine for life, I want everyone to know it“.
Therefore, Barnabás Vujity-Zsolnay enters the Guinness Record playing World of Warcraft for almost 60 hours straight. Who is capable of surpassing this feat?
