2024 has started strongly for Steam Deck, which will celebrate its second year on sale in a few days. These were the 20 most played games of the month of January.
In a few days, Steam Deck will celebrate its second anniversary, after months filled with great games, hidden gems, and indie hits. Valve has managed to make its mark in the world of portable consoles with flying colors.
In addition to the original models released in 2022, it is worth noting that Steam Deck now has an OLED variant, following the path set by Nintendo almost three years ago.
Valve is already thinking about a new Steam Deck, which will focus on correcting the two most criticized aspects of the original: the screen and the battery. However, do not expect to see it before 2025.
Every month, we review the titles that have been played the most on Steam Deck, based on hours of play. Here you can see the top 20 of December 2023, for example.
As is tradition, we bring you the ranking for January 2024, the inaugural month of what promises to be an exciting year for gaming.
Most popular games on Steam Deck in January 2024
Through the official Steam Deck Twitter account/X, the company presided over by Gabe Newell has shared the top 20 most played games of the month of January.
For the most part, we find a ranking very similar to that of December 2023, except for one big novelty.
This is none other than Palworld, the game developed by Pocket Pair that mimics the Pokémon formula, which is currently available in early access. It can be played on both PC and Steam Deck, if we’re talking about the Valve platform.
Despite its great success, Palworld has not taken the top spot in the ranking, which is still held by Baldur’s Gate III. In December, the RPG by Larian Studios was also the most played game on Steam Deck.
This is the top 20 most played games in January 2024:
- Baldur’s Gate III
- Elden Ring
- Monster Hunter World
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Stardew Valley
- Dave the Diver
- Hogwarts Legacy
- GTA V
- Vampire Survivors
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
- Diablo IV
- Cult of the Lamb
- Persona 5 Royal
- Fallout 4
- Slay the Spire
The situation of Elden Ring is noteworthy, as in December it was in sixth position (it has improved its performance on Steam Deck), as is the case with Monster Hunter World, which is enjoying a second wind fueled by Capcom.
Do you have a Steam Deck at home? Many of these titles have surely been part of your start of the year, with Palworld standing out as one of the great surprises of 2024 on the Valve platform.
