Stellar Blade Creator Justifies Sexualization of Characters

The director of the PS5 exclusive game, Stellar Blade, has addressed the controversy surrounding the sexualization of the protagonist, Eve. According to the director, the studio placed special emphasis on the design of the character’s back, as it is what the player sees the most during gameplay.

Hyung-Tae Kim, the game director, explained in an interview with GamesRadar+ that in the world of gaming, character appearances are scrutinized more than in other forms of entertainment such as movies, cartoons, and manga. He expressed his preference for controlling a character that is exceptionally beautiful, stating that this is important in creating an ideal form of entertainment for adults.

Kim emphasized that the design of Eve in Stellar Blade represents bravery and the ability to showcase her charms and attractiveness without compromising the game’s narrative or setting. The game is set to be released exclusively for PS5 on April 26.
