Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds, documentary about the creation of Death Stranding, announces release date on February 23rd on Disney+, and Hideo Tube is back!

Hideo Kojima, the renowned creator of Metal Gear and Death Stranding, never really left, but it could be said that he has now returned stronger than ever because it seems that he can’t stop announcing new games and making public appearances.

In fact, the documentary Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds, about the creation of Death Stranding, his first independent game at Kojima Productions after leaving Konami, is going to premiere earlier than expected: on February 23rd, on Disney+.

The documentary will delve into Hideo Kojima’s mind and how he came up with the idea to “connect” the world in his game, just as the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, for PS5, has been announced with a gameplay trailer.

The documentary features personalities such as Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, George Miller, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, and Chvrches, all involved in the creation of Death Stranding or its beach sequel.

HideoTube returns for the first time in seven years: 50 minutes of interviews about Death Stranding 2

But if you’re left wanting more Kojima, there has been a surprise today: the return of HideoTube, the series of videos presented by Kojima, now on the Konami Productions channel.

It’s much more than a simple video: it lasts 50 minutes, and it offers new details and information (without new gameplay, of course) about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, OD (the horror game announced in December for Xbox), and Physint, the codename for his new spy game for PlayStation, and even the A24 film about Death Stranding.

The video is in Japanese, with English subtitles, or vice versa when English speakers like Norman Reedus, Elle Fanning, or German director Fatih Akin are speaking, whose image has been recreated for the puppet in DS 2 (the one that looks like Joaquín Sabina).

The video is full of details about the three new games (and the film) that Hideo Kojima is working on, so if you are fans of his games, you cannot miss it under any circumstances. And remember that the documentary Hideo Kojima Connecting Worlds will be released on Disney+ on February 23rd.
