PlayStation has not seen the same level of success on PC as it has on the PS5. However, one game is breaking that trend. Helldivers 2 has become the most successful PlayStation game during its debut on PC, with an increasing number of simultaneous players and positive reviews.
According to Steam DB, Helldivers 2 has over 143,000 players at the time of writing, and it recently achieved a new record in simultaneous players. The game has received “Mostly Positive” reviews from 75% of nearly 18,000 players, marking a notable improvement from its initial mixed ratings.
This surge in popularity is attributed to a recent patch that addressed bugs and made improvements to matchmaking. The developers, Arrowhead Game Studios, have acknowledged that more work needs to be done in this area, particularly in the game’s planetary exploration.
As for sales figures, estimates from Gamalytic and VGInsights suggest that Helldivers 2 has sold between 509,000 and 620,000 copies on PC, generating an income of over $16 million. However, official figures from the company have yet to be released.
The success of Helldivers 2 on PC is a significant achievement for PlayStation games, and it will be interesting to see how the game continues to perform in the coming months.
