The highly anticipated anime film Haikyu!! The Battle of the Garbage Dump is set to premiere in Japan in just a few weeks. This film, the first of two installments, marks the end of the adaptation of the popular manga series. However, as more details about the film emerge, concerns have arisen among fans.

According to SugoiBingus on Twitter, the upcoming Haikyu!! film will have a total duration of 1 hour and 24 minutes. This has caused concern among fans, as it is expected to adapt over 100 chapters of the manga into two films.

With the first film having a duration of less than 90 minutes, equivalent to approximately four episodes of a conventional anime series, fans fear that there may be significant cuts to the content of the adaptation. Despite the impressive job that Production I.G. has done with the four seasons, fears of the film missing out on essential content persist.

However, there is a small ray of hope. A leak last summer suggested that Haikyu!! would have three films instead of two, which would make sense of the duration of the first film and those to come in the future. Haikyu!! The Battle of the Garbage Dump is set to premiere in Japan on February 16, 2024.
