Eric Bana refuses to return as Hulk in multiversal MCU

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe began, superhero movies were quite scarce. Movies like Spider-Man, Blade, or Daredevil stood out in the early 2000s, but one that did not age well at all was Hulk.

Directed by Ang Lee and starring Eric Bana, the film centered on the Jade Colossus was not well received. However, many believe that given how immersed the multiverse is in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, we could see a renewed version of this character in the future.

Bana responded to this possibility during a talk on the Australian program Fifi, Fev & Nick for Breakfast. When asked about the possibility of returning as Hulk, he was direct and concise: “I can’t see it. I don’t see it.” The Australian actor already revealed at the time that superhero movies are not his favorite and, considering that his version was not the best received, he has completely ruled out the possibility of returning.

Although it seems that we will have Hulk for a while, the character’s future is uncertain. The She-Hulk series did not have a great performance, and Disney has no intention of giving prominence to the character. However, together with Universal, Marvel could make magic with the Green Giant, especially if they adapt at some point Planet Hulk, one of the superhero’s most famous arcs in comics.
