Did you know that Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, wrote a letter to all Spanish fans of the series? You’re not dreaming, today we bring it to Hobby Consolas for you to be amazed firsthand.
But how is this possible? To put you in context, we have to go back to May 1992, when the Goku manga was first published in Spain. Do you remember the Planeta Cómic’s White Series?
This release was the first one in our country of the Z Warriors. How could we forget this date, crucial for the opening of the manga in Spain! Planeta Cómic, then known as Planeta DeAgostini Cómics, did a titanic job to license Dragon Ball in Spain.
And what’s more, the manga started off with a bang… with a special letter from Akira Toriyama dedicated to all Spanish fans of the series! How about that? Do you want to know what the master wrote?
Right below, we let you see our personal photo of Akira Toriyama’s letter. The mangaka wrote it in Tokyo, on March 22, 1992, and we saw it published on the back cover of issue 1 of the White Series of Dragon Ball. This is a truly historic document.
If you look at the image, you’ll also notice that in the background we appreciate the letter from Akira Toriyama written in Japanese, in his own handwriting, to validate its authenticity.
