Four months after the premiere of its first season, Pesadillas gets the green light to continue adapting R.L. Stine’s horror novels in the form of an anthology series.
Last October, a new series of Pesadillas, a youth horror fiction based on the work of R.L. Stine, arrived on Disney Plus. Now, Disney renews Pesadillas for a second season and shares the first details about it.
While the first season of Pesadillas had a total of ten episodes, each about 35 minutes long, the second season will reduce its number to eight. It has also been confirmed that the series will have an anthology format, so we will enjoy a new story and unique characters in the upcoming episodes.
“Just as when we open a new book in the Pesadillas series, we are eager to see how the team of writers turns the series upside down by exploring it as an anthology”, explained Katherine Pope, president of Sony Pictures Television Studios.
What’s the new season of Pesadillas about?
Along with the announcement, Disney has also shared the first official synopsis of the second season of Pesadillas: “Teenage siblings discover a threat inside their home, triggering a series of events that unravel a deep mystery.”
“As they delve into the unknown, the duo becomes entangled in the story of five teenagers who mysteriously disappeared in 1994”.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, explained that “fans around the world fell in love with the chills, thrills, heart, and humor of the series, making it one of the most-watched series of Disney Branded Television last year”.
“We can’t wait to delve deeper into the brilliant mind of R.L. Stine, and once again collaborate with Sony Pictures Television, Scholastic Entertainment, and our fantastic creative team to bring a completely new mystery to Disney Plus for the second season [of Pesadillas]”, added Ayo Davis.
