Dead Cells has achieved something truly remarkable over the years, as the game has expanded significantly through free updates and collaborations, making it an exceptional roguelike that is always worth revisiting.

However, after constant additions of new features, the time has come to bid farewell. Evil Empire announced that update number 35, titled The End is Near, will be the final update for Dead Cells, and the game will no longer receive any new content.

After five years, four DLCs, 18 updates, and epic crossovers, Evil Empire will no longer continue working on Dead Cells. The team expressed immense pride in their work and gratitude to Motion Twin for the opportunity to work on the game.

While the team will miss working on Dead Cells and the incredible community, they are looking forward to revealing their new projects. The mobile version of the game is still set to receive update 34, Clean Cut, before the end of the year.

Additionally, an animated series based on Dead Cells is in production and is set to be released in the summer of 2023.

In the meantime, the team wishes Motion Twin the best of luck with their new Windblown video game. Overall, it has been a memorable journey for Dead Cells, and the team looks forward to what the future holds.
