The Danish actress had a closer view than most of the rivalry between the two action movie superstars in the 1980s.
The eighties were a unique decade in many ways and, among other aspects, they represented the peak of the rivalry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. The two stars were on everyone’s lips at that time, but they couldn’t stand each other.
One point of friction between Sly and the Chump was the Danish actress Brigitte Nielsen, who made her film debut as Red Sonja in Red Sonja, with Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1985, the year she started her marriage with Sylvester Stallone, which only lasted two years, by the way.
Nielsen has also collaborated with Sly in films like Rocky IV and Cobra, and more recently in Creed II: The Legend of Rocky.
We won’t go into details, suffice it to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone used Nielsen at a certain point to needle each other.
Who would win an arm wrestling match between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone?
The fact is that Brigitte Nielsen appeared on El Hormiguero, Pablo Motos’ show on Antena 3, this Tuesday, February 6, to talk about her career in film and, inevitably, her years with Sly and Arnie came up.
As two of the most brawny action movie actors, Motos felt the need to ask the Danish actress about an arm wrestling match between them: who would win: Schwarzenegger or Stallone?
Brigitte Nielsen had no doubt: “Obviously Arnold,” she said before beating Pablo Motos in an arm wrestling match. The actress joins the stars who have collaborated with both actors and who, in one way or another, have highlighted their good points—and the not-so-good ones.
