In this version of Jimma Times “In pictures” slideshow, JT readers and fans sent their pictures of the memorable funeral ceremony of the legendary Ethiopian singer Dr. Tilahun Gessesse.

Prominent personalities and well-known Ethiopian singers like Mahmoud Ahmed, Ali Birra and Kemer Yousef paid tribute to Tilahun. Similar to other famous Ethiopians like the renowned Poet Laureate Tsegaye Gabre-Medhin, (dubbed Ethiopia's "Shakespeare") Tilahun Gessesse is also born from ethnically mixed parents from Oromo and Amhara. And He sang about diverse themes as well as in various languages. Tilahun's career spanned three very different Ethiopian governments and over five decades.
