The 36-year-old Ethiopian champion finished
the 42.2-kilometre race in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 9 seconds ahead of
Kenya's Chala Dechase Beyene (2:06:33) and Ethiopian Eshetu Wendimu
Tsige (2:06:46). The women's event was also dominated by Ethiopians, with Mamitu Daska
Molisa wining the race at 2:24:18 ahead of compatriot Aberu Kebede
