Ethiopia: Oromos denied Food aid for rejecting OPDO

Residents of West Hararghe zone of Oromiya charge that committees created by regional government administrators are denying much-needed food aid to residents who did not vote in the past for local candidates of the Oromo People’s Democratic Organization or the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front.

West Hararghe is within an area of Oromiya that two weeks ago was described by the U.S. Agency for International Development as “highly food insecure.”The agency indicated that humanitarian assistance needs were expected to be very high.

Residents of Miesso, Dobba and Boke told VOA’s Jalene Gemeda that local officials also are prohibiting residents from moving to other regions to live and to search for food. There are also unconfirmed local reports that some officials were fired for selling the assistance from the USAID’s Safety Net program for their personal profit.

Aliyi Kalifa, the administrator of West Hararghe zone of Oromiya, denied there has been any misappropriation of funds or discrimination in the distribution of food aid. Aliyi told VOA the food shortage that has occurred in eight of the 14 districts in West Hararghe zone is the result of untimely rain caused by the global climate change.

History repeats itself.
There will be no stone left unturned when a regime becomes so desperate, but wants to remain in power. There are clear and unequivocal signs of dejection of the TPLF gangs' unethical and barbaric acts in every corner of the Country. How far would go? Definitely, TPLF will use every thing, situations, people's circumstances (which they-TPLF induced on the citizens), prisons, bullets, extortions ....etc so as to hang on to their fatal power on the Ethiopian ruling arena.

It is up to the people of the land to say "enough is enough". But till then, don't get surprised when TPLF resorts to the worst atrocious crime measured by the decent human standard!!!! There is no humanity left in TPLF.

attention!
Such cry outs in some pockets of Oromia are tips of Iceberg!!The run up to the coming election is a shameful denial of democracy in Ethiopia. EPRDF is using whatever means it has to disable real opposition from the early start.

Any how, VOA needs to setup more offices in this country this time.
