Ethiopia: Oromo Student Expelled, Abducted from Gondar University - OLF

OLF News correspondent reported from Finfinnee (Addis Ababa) that a second year student of geography whose name is Tasew Tabor Goobaa was expelled from the Gondar University by the Wayyaanee cadres without any charges or any wrongdoing other than falsely being accused of having links with the OLF. Student Tasew Tabor was expelled from the university on March 23, 2009.

Our reporters added that student Tasew was then abducted by the government forces and his where about is unknown. Prior to his dismissal and his final abduction, student Tasew was repeatedly harassed and intimidated by forces of the regime. The dean of Gondar University whose name is Muluken is said to have played a key role in dismissing the student and in his final abduction.

It is to be recalled that OLF News has reported on March 8, 2009 that the brutal Woyane regime of Ethiopia arrested over 80 Oromo students from Bahir Dar university alone and that one Oromo student was killed and many others wounded and thrown into jail in Gedo high school Western Shoa zone of Oromia regional state when high school students protested against a derogatory remarks thrown to the Oromo nation.

It is also to be recalled that the Ethiopian government discriminately dismissed 330 Oromo students in 2004 for peacefully protesting the decision made by the so called Oromia regional state, which is a puppet of the TPLF led government, to move the capital of Oromia from Finfinnee to Adama.
