Yeah import a language, hard to learn, hard to read, a foreign language outside of Africa and bring it and crown it. How come you did not say Swahili huh? I would speak any African language before I speak English officially in Ethiopia. English is dieng in the future as an international language. There is already a movement in Asia to create a better, drawn out language easier and more efficient. Its a travesty if you ask me Oromia chose the Roman Alphabet instead of Fidel. Something as an African every Oromian should be proud of. Instead, the state got blinded by its hatred to Amharas and opted to go with the Roman Alphabet. That system is prone to errors and no way close to the efficient Fidel. Amharas did not create the Fidel system, its older than Amharas. Not sure why it is acceptable to Oromos to ditch anything African and jump on messy European ways.

Those extremists in the Amhara and Oromo camp create a golden opportunity for the TPLF government to rule Ethiopia with out any significant resistance for the last 18 years and may be for the next 18 years.

Nice opinion! This really gives all citizens of the empire an equal chance of development. Now Amharic speakers are privilaged to get a chance to work in federal institutions, whereas Speakers of Afaan Oromo and other languages are doomed to be fit only for local institutions. Is this not the same to language policy of Bantustans in South Africa during the apartheid? If we insist to make Amharinya the only working language of the federation, then all children from all nations should be made as fit as Amhara children. Otherwise Amharinya should be used only in Amhara region and English should be the only federal language so that children from all national areas do have the same chance of access to the federation!

After reading the imposition of Amharinya at the cost of Afaan Oromo in this article, I just couldn't help, but think about the main mistake Ob (Aste) Minilik Caala ("our colonizer"), Ob Qusee Dinagde, Ob. Gobena Daacee eetc Oromos did. The only mistake they did was making Amharinya the national language of the empire they did build. All being Oromos, if they could have managed to make Afaan Oromo the national language of Ethiopian empire, now we Oromos were not the ones to fight for self-determination. The whole Finfinne and other towns' "modern" people would have spoken Afaan Oromo, the whole diaspora Ethiopians now would have spoken Afaan Oromo, all would have claimed to be Ethiopian which is equivalent to be Oromo, not Amhara as it is now.

At present, for Amharas to come to their sense and comprehend why we did say so, let's look at the following fact in short. Almost 99.9% Amharas now a days think they are pro Ethiopianity and anti "Ethnicity" and with that they do think that they do have moral upper hand. For them to develop an other view, let's demote Amharinya to local language of only Amhara region and promote Afaan Oromo to federal language. Till now, just based on the fact that Amharinya being federal language, they used to cry about Ethiopianity, which in essence meanse actually Amharanet for they know how amharanization is still going on. When we change the role of the two languages, I am sure Oromos will start to sing about Ethiopianity which will be equivalent to Oromummaa and of course they will denounce "Ethnicity". Then Amharas will start to defend them selves from oromonization and will denoune Ethiopianity with only Afaan Oromo as federal language and they will be automatically pro "Ethnicity". So we can see how simple it is to be moralisit without understanding the mechanism behind all what we do believe.

to Ethiopianity, Oromo freedom fighters will definetly start to be pro Ethiopianity against
"ethnicity" and then Amharas will begin to defend their identity by opting for self-determination of
Amhara people, so that they support "ethnicity" and reject Ethiopianity aka Oromummaa. This
way, Amharas can comprehend what it meanse to struggle for national independence with or
without regional union.

The current attempt of Amharas to make both Afaan Oromo and Amharinya the national
langhuages of Ethiopia they want to build in the future is disadvantegous for other smaller
nations in the empire. Amharas opted to this alternatve just to make Amharinya again be the
language of all regions including Oromia, the option they don't have now. As far as Oromos are
concerend Afaan Oromo being federal working language is not bad, so long Amharinya will not be
imposed on Oromia, but Amharinya should be the working language of only Amhara region and of
course that of the federation beside Afaan Oromo.

For other nations in the empire, this may mean to learn four langiuages instead of the present
only three. But I do argue that these nations need to learn only two languages: their own
mother tounge and an international language aka English. Why should their chlidren be obliged
to learn Afaan Oromo and Amharinya and be stressed with additional useless languages, wheres
Amhara children learn only Amharinya and English, so that being free from such stress. So my
suggestion is that all children from all nations in the empire should have the privilage given to
