Eritrea-American wins Houston Half-Marathon
JT - Eritrea born American Mebrahtom (Meb) Keflezighi was the Aramco Houston Half Marathon winner on Sunday. The Olympic medalist Keflezighi crossed the finish line in 1 hour and 1:25 minutes.
The second place winner was Dathan Ritzenhein, another American, who clocked in 1:01:35.
The 33-year old Keflezighi and his family went to the United States as a refugee and he quickly established himself in long distance running. In the 2004 Summer Olympics Mebrahtom finished second in the men's marathon, winning a silver medal in a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes and 29 seconds.
